THE BOYZ's Juyeon and Q Spark a 2M-View 'NEON Challenge'

Juyeon and Q (Ji Chang-min), the main dancers of K-pop boy group THE BOYZ, have set social media buzzing with a black-and-white dance video set to 'NEON.' Across Instagram Reels and X, the clip has passed a combined 2 million views.

How the NEON Challenge Came Together

THE BOYZ posted the video on its official social accounts on the 27th. In it, Juyeon and Q dance to 'NEON,' the debut song of A2O LITE, which was released on the 13th and reached No. 1 on Melon's TOP100 chart (a major Korean music streaming platform) in about 29 hours. Dressed casually, the pair filled the studio with high-energy choreography.

The project began with Juyeon. In a message on a fan communication app, he said he suggested it to Q simply because he wanted to dance, and he thought hard about which challenge would earn praise. He even chose a neon-style windbreaker on purpose. Q said fans had recommended the NEON challenge to him on the same app, and Juyeon then proposed doing it together.

About 13 hours after release, the video had 1.41 million Instagram Reels views, over 144,000 likes and more than 4,500 comments, plus over 660,000 views on X. Bandmates joined in too. Sunwoo commented 'So reassuring,' while Eric quoted the official post on X, calling the pair 'our proud main dancers.' Fans echoed the excitement with comments like 'This is insane.'

Both members are also busy beyond the stage. Juyeon has been cast in the new tvN drama 'Ambassador to Korea' and is preparing to film. Q has wrapped the drama 'Debut My Favorite' and two films, and he will hold his first solo fan meeting, 'Four Seasons : For Season,' at COEX Artium in Seoul on November 7. After both shows sold out, a bonus show was added on November 8 at 3 p.m. He will then meet fans in Yokohama, Japan, for two more shows.

Why It Matters

The viral clip shows how a spontaneous fan-driven idea can turn into a major social media moment, giving group members a chance to shine alongside their solo acting and fan-meeting activities.
